An introduction of Maheshwar Maheshwar, a temple town on the bank of River Narmada, mentioned in the great Hindu epics ‘Ramayana & Mahabharata’, a glorious city which was known as ‘Mahishmati’, was the capital of southern Avanti at the time of King Kartavirya Arjun.
